STATEMENT:

Each morning at the temple of Honen-in, the monks place a fresh leaf at the lip of a stone basin for water to cascade from. The combination of the ephemeral leaf and the enduring stone is the essence of what inspires us about gardens. Our garden brings together water, stone, and primarily California native plants to transform a shady old lawn into a space for daily rejuvenation and enduring beauty.
